Craftsman Piano Tuning Lever

The Craftsman tuning lever is a professional quality tuning hammer, which allows great flexibility in use--with the option of changing tips and heads if necessary. The Craftsman Tuning Lever features a 6" long, lacquered wood handle with a smooth tapered feel. Comes with a stationary stainless steel rod. Tuning hammer features a #2 STAR Tip (1 inch long) and a 1-1/4 inch long head at a 5 degree angle.

The less expensive tuning hammers have a "one piece head and tip." What separates the Craftsman tuning lever from its less cheaper alternatives, is that it features a head and tip combo! What this means is that you can easily mix and match heads and tips in the future with this Craftsman tuning lever if you find it necessary (for example from a #2 star to a #1 star, or putting the #2 Star tip on different angle and length heads.) With the alternative choices (like the Student Piano Tuning Lever), you will have to buy a separate one piece head/tip combo for every head (the angle) and tip (star, square, etc). For those tuning multiple pianos, where changing heads and tips are necessary, we recommend the Craftsman. You will need the tip wrench to interchange the various heads and tips.



Tuning hammer head option:
The standard tuning lever head measures 1-1/4" long, with a 5 degree angle. However if you are tuning a grand piano, we recommend getting the 1-3/4" long option, with 15 degree angle.

American Made! Our piano tuning supplies are all manufactured in the United States by Schaff Piano Supply, and accurately machined from the finest alloy steels. Schaff parts and tools have been the choice of 'Professional Piano Technicians' since 1884. With globalization and the expansion of the Chinese manufacturing industry, there are a number of inexpensive imported piano tuning supplies showing up on the market today. We cannot express enough however, that "you get what you pay for." The Chinese imported tuning products, are for lack of a better expression, "cheap junk." We've purchased them and reviewed them, and they are of such low quality that they will not stand up over time. Whereas a Schaff tuning lever will last you for decades, these Asian imports will quickly bend, if not break, after a couple uses. The quality of tune you get is also inferior. We cannot tell you how many times we've had customers who first bought inexpensive Asian made tuning supplies, just to turn around and have to buy a quality American made product. We could carry these Chinese tuning products, and make a decent buck selling them in bulk, however we refuse to sell an inferior product to our customers.
