The Empire Deluxe Duet Leather Artist Bench is a high-end adjustable piano bench, constructed of 100% solid hardwood, with a heavy-duty lifting mechanism. The bench features spade legs, and a hand tufted leather upholstered top with 20 buttons, adding style and durability (tufted buttons provide structure and stability to an upholstered top, and a tufted top will hold up better and last longer that a simple flat top).

The bench is a true artist bench (compared to simply an adjustable piano bench), meaning that it has a skirt going around the upholstered top to prevent the raising mechanism from being visible when the bench is raised

Pictured below is the heavy duty brass piano lifting mechanism. Well built, it allows for precise adjustments an height, and will not break down over time. The raising arms connect to hardware on both the frame and upholstered top sections of the piano bench, adding extra stability and durability. In general, this is one of the better raising mechanisms on the market, especially for a piano bench in this price range.




Our Piano Bench Review:

The Empire Duet Tufted Deluxe Artist Bench is high quality, stylish and comfortable artist bench. Well built, the bench will not break down. We were very impressed with the raising mechanism, as well as the size of the wood used, and the weight of the overall bench (weight is a good indicator on the quality of the wood used, and the size of the mechanism. When you a duet benches weighs 25 lbs, you know you're getting a lot of particle board, and not a lot of brass supportive hardware. This bench weighs over 50 lbs).

Pehaps more than anything, we were amazed with the price of this bench, and what a great deal you get for the money spent. Typically, a leather duet artist bench is in the price range of $700-1100; when we first saw this empire price of this bench, we thought it was for the vinyl option. Furthermore the quality of the leather used is furniture grade. You will notice some of the cheaper import adjustable benches offer leather for just a few dollars more. The catch is that it is a cheap ,thin leather, which will crack and wear down quickly. That is not the case with the Empire bench.
